The scheduler is not running
The app defines scheduled tasks but no cron runs them. Ours stopped for five weeks after a folder rename and nobody noticed.

The site writes jobs to one queue, the worker reads another. 42,000 jobs once waited five months.

More PHP files than the cache holds: every request compiles again. One WordPress site took 3.7 s per page until it was resized.

retry_after is shorter than the worker timeout, so a long job is picked up again while it still runs.

Hostio never edits a file on a server by hand. Every change is a versioned recipe with an operation log entry.

You see the exact file or line that will change, generated from a template, before anything runs.

The old version is backed up on the server and one action puts it back.
Move a site to another server
Changing provider or splitting a crowded box? Hostio moves a site in steps you approve: it prepares the new server, copies files and the database, recreates workers and cron, switches DNS, verifies the new copy and only then retires the old one.

Deploys without reloading PHP-FPM
The default deploy does not reload FPM, so in-flight requests are not killed. Deploy keys, no tokens in URLs.

Your servers stay yours
Hostio needs root over SSH, so the rules are strict and written down.
One key per team
Each team gets its own SSH key pair; the private half is encrypted at rest and never leaves the control plane.
Only from our addresses
Hostio connects only from 172.104.245.102, 2a01:7e01::2000:8ff:fe2e:4639. Allow these in your firewall and put them in the key line as from="…" so a stolen key is useless anywhere else.
Health never writes
On the free plan Hostio can only read: no recipe that changes a server runs, by design and by test.
Every change reversible
Paid plans write only through previewed, versioned recipes with a backup and a roll back, logged with who did it.
